Top 10 Batsmen in IPL : All-time Player Ranking

The biggest cricket event, Indian Premiere League (IPL) is getting more and more popularity at international level. IPL is real warfare because here players come from different nations and make one team. This event is very challenging for all batsmen and bowlers to show their talent and skill. As per last three years IPL matches, many players gave good and strong performance for their teams by their unique playing style. The highest scorers of IPL are included in the top ten batsmen. Descriptions of top 10 batsmen in IPL are given below.

1, Suresh Raina:

Suresh Kumar Raina alias Sanu, 24 years old is aggressive left-hander batsman. This blue-eyed boy has ability to hit the stumps from the infield and this ability turn up him on the top. He is also capable to attract applause by his electric fielding ability. He is top with highest IPL score 2720 in the 96 IPL matches. He is only cricket star who scored over 400 runs in each IPL’s season. Since IPL debut 2008, he played for Mahendra Singh Dhoni captained franchise Chennai Super Kings. During 2010, he became man-of-the-match with 55 not out from 35 balls in the final winning match and was on the place of third-highest run-scorer in IPL. For the 2011 season, he was retained for Chennai Super Kings. The performance of Suresh Raina is continues growing, that’s why at present he is placed on top position in the list of Top 10 IPL Players.

2, Chris Gayle:

Chris Gayle is West-Indies batsman currently playing as an opening batsman for Virat Kohli captained franchise, “Royal Challengers Bangalore”. On 23th April, 2013 Chris Gayle brought Gayle storm on the IPL field by making fastest century in merely 30 balls against Pune Warriors team. After making this highest score, he became popular all over the world. Lately, he enjoyed second place on the ranking table of top 10 IPL Players, scoring 2484 runs in the 58 IPL matches. He was selected to join the Royal Challengers Bangalore in fourth Indian Premier League and gave best performance. In the 2012 IPL season, Gayle hit highest sixes and clutched the nomination for the orange cap for making 733 in 14 matches.

3, Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma India’s young cricket star is also famous for his striking batting ability. He plays his all bat shots with his knack to find the gaps. At debut of IPL, he was sold for the Deccan Chargers. In first season of the IPL, he made 404 runs sores at 36.73 averages. During first season of IPL, he also held the desirable Orange Cap. He also played his role as vice-captain of the Deccan Chargers in 2009 season. He played for Deccan Chargers last three seasons, but from season 4 he has played for Mumbai Indians franchise. This year, he is the captain of his team.  Since 2008, he scored total 2462 runs including 198 fours and 109 sixes in 92 matches that’s one of the IPL highest scores. Once he made 26 runs in Mashrafe Mortaza’s over when required 21 runs to win match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

4, Gautam Gambhir:  

Gautam Gambhir is forever opener batsman for any form of cricket matches. He is energetic and solid batsman of the Indian team. He can be proved more forceful batsman than Virender Sehwag. He plays match without taking any risks. At the starting of the IPL, he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils franchise. In opening season, he scored 534 runs in 14 matches and placed at second highest run-scorer of season. He is at fourth place of high score with total 2449 runs in 86 matches including 290 fours and 37 sixes. He is the highest paid cricketer in the history of IPL with record breaking bid of $2.4 million (Rs 11.04 crore) by Kolkata Knight Riders.

5, Sachin Tendulkar:

All-time prolific batsman and leading cricket icon, Sachin Tendulkar always plays with the purest principles that consists economy of movement, correctness in stroke-making, and perfect balance. He is god of cricket. He is already top of the ODI matches and he also leads in IPL matches. He has scored runs in all conditions at any parts of the world and his score of 100 at age of 19 on a lightning-fast pitch at the WACA is one of the best example of it. In IPL, he has played for his home side franchise Mumbai Indians since IPL debut. He was the captain of his IPL team from season 1 to 5. During 2010 IPL season, Tendulkar scored 618 runs in 14 innings and hit the most runs in an IPL season record of Shaun Marsh and also received the title of player of the 2010 tournament as well Best Batsman and Best Captain awards. He is one of the top IPL batmen with score of 2334. Tendulkar scored 100 in 66 balls against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2012.

6, Jacques Kallis:

South African team’s brawny colossus, Jacques Kallis aka JH Kallis is also one of the top ten batsman of the IPL. He is a powerful batsman who hit the ball with his rock-solid technique. He is leading most complete all rounder. He debuted in IPL by playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise and he averaged 16.85 runs per innings. But this year season, he joined Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. Since 2008, he scored 2251 runs including 240 fours and 40 sixes in total 88 IPL matches.

7, Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli is very dashing Indian cricketer who earned reputation as a talented, level-headed and mature cricketer. He is the middle order batsman. Since 2008, he played the role of captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was the only player that Royal Challengers Bangalore retained. The performance of Virat Kohli in current season is superb that’s why he got 7th position in the list of top IPL batsmen. He scored 2217 runs in 92 matches including 212 fours and 67 sixes.

8, MS Dhoni:

As well ODI match, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s leadership has also improved the test match ranking and especially his successful three years for the Chennai Super Kings franchise in IPL. He is right-hand batsman and his far-from-polished wicket keeping technique is very awesome. His captaincy also proved most favorable to win World cup 2011. He performed well in each of the first five seasons including two winning season. Now, once more time, his team reaches close to win the Champions League of season six. At present, under Dhoni captainship Chennai Super Kings is top in the point table by winning highest matches. He made score of 2156 runs from total 93 innings of IPL.

9, Virender Sehwag:

India’s top aggressive player, Virender Sehwag aka Nawab of Najafgarh is right-hander opener and a part-time right-arm off-spin bowler. He is well-known for his attractive attacking batting style that is regularly compared with Sachin Tendulkar. Sehwag made many records in ODI and Test matches. Due to his well performance, he also takes place in top batsman of the IPL. For first two season of the IPL, Sehwag led the Delhi Daredevils franchise, but to focus on his batting, he transferred captainship to Gautam Gambhir. Opportunely, he is only player of his team who once again signed for Delhi Daredevils franchise and one more time got chance to lead the team. From 77 IPL matches, he scored 2133 runs including 258 fours and 85 sixes. He is orange cap holder for IPL season four. Since 2008 to 2011, he was the captain of Delhi Daredevils.  He was the only player that Delhi Daredevils retained.

10, Rahul Dravid:

Rahul Dravid is a retired Indian international cricketer and game’s most technically gifted batsman. He is the only batsman who made century in every test-playing nation and only Indian to score hundreds in four successive Test innings. At present, he is the captain of Rajasthan Royals. Before fourth season, he had played for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 2011, he was the highest run getter of his team and in 2012 he emerged as the second highest run-getter for RR. In 85 IPL matches, he scored 2090 runs including 255 fours and 27 sixes and now he is placed on tenth position in the list of top IPL batsmen.

Cheerleader Gabriella Pasqualotto Blog reveals the Secret Of IPL players

Gabriella Pasqualotto has been dismissed from her post as she revealed the secrets of IPL players on her blog post: "The Secret Diary of an IPL Cheerleader". The South African cheerleader blogged about the "flirtatious" and "inappropriate" behavior of some cricketers at the post-match parties. The complaint against her was done by Mumbai Indians' 3 players such as Andrew Symond, Aiden Blizzard and Moises Henriques. Gabriella Pasqualotto is Mumbai Indians IPL' Cheerleader. After the complaint regarding her blog she is thinking to take legal action.

People can not imagine IPL teams without Brand Ambassadors, who promotes teams not only in the grounds but also raise the value of their team. Brand Ambassadors always play vital role in IPL. The bigger the star is the greater prestige of team. Generally, opportunity to become brand ambassadors of any product and service is received by actresses, actors, sports players, singers and similar celebrities. In IPL this opportunity has been given to some bollywood personalities including Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Deepika Padukone, Preity Zinta, and Katrina Kaif.

Rahul Sharma rocks with Best Economy rate

Pune Warriors leg-spinner, Rahul Sharma rocks in the IPL 4 with best economy rate of 1.75 and figures being 4-0-7-2 against Tendulkar-led Mumbai Indians. Captain Yuvraj Singh is the top run-scorer and Rahul Sharma is the top wicket taker for their team until now. Yuvraj also appreciated the bowling of Rahul saying that his economical spells with wickets helped them to manage the middle overs well, however Pune could not win. Yuvraj stated that Rahul is the star of their bowling campaign and this young boy is growing in stature.

New Playoffs Phenomena of IPL 4

IPL 4 has been already started on April 8 and ends on May 28, in which total 10 teams participated. Previously there were eight teams and in IPL 4, 2011 two new teams entered - Pune and Kochi. There are 74 matches (70 league matches and 4 play-off games) played in IPL 2011 schedule season 4 across 13 stadiums in India. This year a playoffs phenomenon in IPL 4 is fairly new and based on New Zealand’s last year’s domestic T20 Tournament, pictured by Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar. IPL Cheer Queens replace Cheerleaders

Till now the Cheerleaders on cricket field are considered as major attraction for viewers but, this trend has been changed during IPL match when Pune Warriors and Delhi Daredevils came across. Pune Warriors team revealed a new outstanding concept at D.Y. Patil Sports Complex in Navi Mumbai, India to encourage team players. The Cheer leaders replaced with traditionally dressed Cheer Queens.
